Anirban Basu, chief economist for Associated Builders and Contractors, will present “Construction Executive‘s 2026 Mid-Year Construction Economic Update and Forecast” on July 8, 2026 at 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT).
Turmoil has engulfed the economy. War in Iran is disrupting global supply chains, causing gas prices to skyrocket. Tariffs were ruled unconstitutional, but quickly replaced with new ones. Unemployment has ticked up, and stubbornly high interest rates are suppressing project starts.
Basu will provide contractors with metrics and perspective to simplify the state of the economy and offer insights contractors should be aware of for their strategic planning.
