SUMMARY:Deep Dive into Certified Payroll
DESCRIPTION:Certified payroll mistakes don’t just create paperwork issues—they can trigger audits\, payment delays\, and serious compliance findings on prevailing wage jobs. \nFollowing a highly attended Prevailing Wage Compliance seminar earlier this year\, we’re expanding on that discussion with a deeper\, more practical look at certified payroll. No prior attendance is required—this virtual session is designed to provide value whether or not you joined the previous seminar. \nThis practical online course walks contractors\, subcontractors\, and payroll staff through the complete process of preparing and submitting U.S. Department of Labor Form WH-347\, the certified payroll report required under the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts. Participants will learn how to accurately complete every section of the form — from company and project setup through final certification — so their weekly submissions meet DOL Wage and Hour Division standards and withstand compliance review. \nKey Takeaways \n\nForm setup and sequencing: Correctly identify prime versus subcontractor status\, assign sequential Certified Payroll Numbers\, and apply the rules for skipping “no work” weeks.\nAccurate payroll detail: Record worker information\, labor classifications from the wage determination\, daily and weekly hours\, wage rates\, fringe credits\, cash-in-lieu payments\, gross and net pay for the project and across all work.\nFringe benefit reporting: Distinguish between fringe reduction credits and cash-in-lieu payments\, and properly document funded versus unfunded plans\, including when DOL approval is required.\nRegistered Apprentice compliance: Identify apprentices on Page 1 and disclose whether they are enrolled in a U.S. DOL (OA) or State Apprenticeship Agency (SSA) program using official apprenticeship documents.\nStatement of Compliance: Complete Page 2 certifications confirming payroll accuracy\, detail each worker’s hourly fringe credits\, and attest that employees received full earnings without unauthorized rebates or deductions.\n\nAttendees will receive a signed copy of The Contractor’s Guide to the Davis-Bacon Act: Essential Knowledge for Bidding and Compliance on Prevailing Wage Jobs\, by Nat Peniston. \nVIRTUAL EVENT: Register today. A link to join the webinar will be emailed to you the day before the event. \n\nPresenter:\n \nNat Peniston\, Vice President The Contractors Plan \nNat Peniston is a national expert on government-funded prevailing wage obligations and works closely with construction contractors to ensure proper compliance\, particularly in bona fide employee benefits strategies. An accomplished author\, he has published numerous articles in the Associated Builders and Contractors Construction Executive magazine and published the book\, “The Contractor’s Guide to the Davis-Bacon Act: Essential Knowledge for Bidding and Compliance on Prevailing Wage Jobs.” \n  \nNat is a past chairman of the board of the Central Texas Chapter of the Associated Builders & Contractors and is involved in various charitable organizations. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and lives in Austin\, TX\, with his wife and two daughters.

SUMMARY:Tools for Change: Substance Use Awareness\, Stigma Reduction and Recovery Supports in the Trades
DESCRIPTION:Substance use is already on construction jobsites—often unseen\, often unspoken—and its impact reaches far beyond the individual. It shows up in safety incidents\, strained communication\, lost productivity\, turnover\, and weakened trust across crews. In an industry defined by physical demands\, tight deadlines\, long hours\, and high-risk work\, the effects are too significant to ignore. \nThis training confronts the realities of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) in the Trades and breaks down how it develops\, including the roles of tolerance and withdrawal in shaping behavior\, performance\, and decision-making on the job. Participants will examine how jobsite and company culture can either reinforce risk or become a powerful force for prevention\, stability\, and support. \nThe session also addresses stigma directly—how it shows up in conversations\, supervision\, HR processes\, and field leadership—and the real consequences it has when people hesitate to speak up\, step in\, or seek help. Left unaddressed\, stigma delays action and increases risk for everyone on the jobsite. \nParticipants will learn practical\, actionable strategies to reduce stigma across all levels of a construction organization and strengthen a culture where safety and support work together. The training also introduces peer recovery workers\, their role in supporting individuals in recovery\, and why peer-based support is especially effective in the Trades. \nThis session equips construction teams with shared language and real-world tools to recognize issues earlier\, respond more effectively\, and build safer\, more resilient workplaces. \nFREE VIRTUAL EVENT: Register today\, a link to join the webinar will be emailed to you the day before the event. \n\nPresenter:\n \nPatricia “Patti” Baranowski\, MA\, CADC\, Program DirectorPRO-A WORKS \nMs. Baranowski has over 30 years working in the areas of prevention\, education\, support\, advocacy\, clinical and counseling\, in the field of Substance Use Disorders. She is currently the Program Director of PRO-A’s WORKS Project. She worked as an educator\, a certified allied addictions practitioner\, a training and event coordinator\, and an advocate for individuals with substance use disorder and their families her entire career. She has been instrumental in developing and implementing specialized employment programs for individuals with Substance Use Disorder and Co-Occurring Disorders to support PRO-A’s Workforce Support Project. She continues to work to expand statewide workforce trainings and technical assistance\, assisting with advocacy and public awareness throughout the Commonwealth. Patricia has trained for PRO-A for many years\, assisting in the development of new trainings. She holds a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification through the Pennsylvania Certification Board\, and is a certified CRS/CFRS Trainer for the Pennsylvania Certification Board. Ms. Baranowski is proud to have served in the US Army Reserves as a Medic and Administrative Assistant\, where she received many honors during her service. She has extensive professional\, and has a Masters’ Degree in Human Services\, with a focus on Health and Wellness. SUMMARY:Autodesk Construction Cloud Model Coordination and Analytics
DESCRIPTION:True value from Autodesk Construction Cloud comes from understanding how models and data work together on real projects\, not from clicking through a perfect sample file. This course focuses on practical model coordination and meaningful analytics\, showing you how to manage multiple 3D models\, identify and resolve clashes early\, and turn project data into actionable insights. Through hands-on workflows with BIM Collaborate and ACC analytics\, you’ll learn how to coordinate design with confidence\, track real-world costs and KPIs\, and deliver clear\, data-driven reporting that supports better decisions across your projects. \nThis live online course is offered as a four-hour course. Each session is 2 hours. A live instructor explains the detailed functions and addresses questions as the class progresses. \nRecording: Registrants for a course will receive access to a recording of each session for 7 consecutive days. Access will start the next business day after the session ends. \nSession 1: Model Coordination with Autodesk BIM Collaborate\, May 5th \n\nClash Detection: Learn to set up and manage coordination spaces and use automated clash detection to identify and resolve model conflicts before construction begins.\nIssue Creation from Clashes: Practice creating and assigning issues directly from detected clashes\, ensuring responsible parties are notified and can resolve the conflict.\nMobile Model Access: Understand how to publish and access 3D models from the field to review designs and solve problems on-site.\n\nSession 2: Project Insights and Data Analytics\, May 7th \n\nDashboard Creation: Learn to create customized project dashboards to visualize key metrics\, such as RFI and submittal cycle times\, safety trends\, and budget vs. actual costs.\nCross-Project Analysis: Utilize the executive dashboard to view data across all projects\, enabling managers to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.\nReport Generation: Master the creation of custom reports to share project performance with stakeholders and inform future project planning.
